A veteran of Photo Manipulation Dean started freelancing over 20 years ago, designing flyers, CDs, posters, and records for Urban Dance promoters and artists.
When the E-Reader boom kicked off he transitioned over to Book Cover Design + Illustration, and spent the majority of his career illustrating covers for some of the biggest names in Horror.
Notable commissions include Stephen King, Clive Barker, Vince Flynn, Graham Masterton, and the SNAFU short stories series, adapted to Netflix' Love Death and Robots.
Dean loves Dark Digital Art, MMA, and HEAVY Drum n Bass rave music! He owns and loves three small dogs: Pappins (Pug), Scoobie (Chihuahua), and FizzGigs (Chihuahua) ❤️

My name is Abbey Esparza. I grew up in the rural Midwest, near the City of Chicago, Illinois, and now reside in the City of San Antonio, Texas.
My initial love for the dark and surreal came from horror movies such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and other gore-filled yet creative, 80's slasher movies.
Nowadays, however, I prefer something a bit more subtle. I love dark atmosphere, contrasting themes, and details that provoke the sensation of real-life texture. I love to play in all types of genres, creating a maze of surreal creative visions. So, I am always open to hearing all kinds of project ideas!

I'm a self-taught freelance Book Cover Designer / Illustrator.
My artistic inspiration comes from many sources, including retro horror poster paintings and designs.
Most of my original work commences with existing photographic material, in some cases taking standard stock photography and extensively manipulating the images, layer by layer, to distort or twist it into something dark, intriguing and challenging. I am however equally comfortable and adept at working with other styles and genres.
I've worked with some great names in the publishing industry inc: Jonathan Janz, Sean Costello and Festa Verlag Publishing.
